DETENTION & DEMURRAGE POLICY

Detention fees are charges on containers not returned to the port within an allotted time. Demurrage fees are charged for containers not picked up from the port within a contracted time frame.

When initiating a dispute, if it’s related to Container Per Diem Detention or Demurrage, please ensure to provide The Block Logistics, Inc. invoice number that is related to your billing.

Disputes must be submitted to The Block Logistics, Inc. within 30 days of the invoice date. We will provide feedback on your dispute within 7 business days of receipt of your request.

Depending on the specific circumstances of the dispute, supplementary evidence may be requested from the Exporter/Importer billed party. Requests should be in reference to fee mitigation, refund, or waiver.
